Having a brand that contains the four letters E-S-P-N, we are fortunate our fans will flock to our stoop the moment we open the door to new content. As gracious hosts and fellow sports fans, we can’t help ourselves… “C’mon In! Set your EARS on this feast! We’ve got a smorgasbord of tasty podcasts to choose from. Feel free to sample the goods and listen all you want!” That’s the easy part. We can attract sports fans, but if we fail at providing a compelling product they will exit as quickly as they entered.
Yes, fans may hang around a little longer because the ESPN brand has gained some equity with them. But unless we follow through on our promise to entertain, enlighten and inform they will slam the door on the product and effectively dent the brand credibility. We’re fortunate that ESPN will attract fans to our selection of audio products.
